- Crete runs on wine and olives and this safari takes you to the heartlands of production
- Part of our safari is off-road navigating gorges and creeks through lush vegetation with panoramic views – lots of local flora, fauna and old building photo opportunities en route
- We will pick you up from your hotel in the morning between 8:00 – 9:00
- Our first call is at the Terra Creta olive oil mill to see how the oil is made and enjoy a tasting – Cretans believe that olive oil is the secret to a long life so don’t hold back
- Next we visit Karavitakis winery to see the vineyard and how the wine is made with a different sort of tasting where perhaps you shouldn’t over-indulge!
- Our final stop before lunch is to see and photogaph a 3000 year-old olive tree and learn something of its history
- By now you’re bound to be hungry so we stop for a lesiurely lunch in the small town of Ano Vouves, at a taverna known for its Cretan cuisine
- Happily replete, we drive back along proper tarmac roads, through orange and lemon groves,arriving back at your hotel aroudn 18.00
