DESCRIPTION AND TRIP ITINERARY:
- Lindos, one of the island’s three ancient cities, is among the island’s most famous and renowned for its famous Acropolis. At a height of 535 feet, the ruins offer breathtaking views and photo opportunities of the entire village, including its medieval castle, superb sandy beach and charming white-washed, sugar cubed houses
- Ancient Lindos was the most important town on the Island and has been inhabited for 5000 years
- After a guided tour of the Acropolis, we will walk down to the village of Lindos for a visit to the Byzantine Church of the Ascension
- During our visit, we will take a walking tour through the labyrinth of narrow cobbled streets, past the colourful courtyards and mosaics for which Lindos is famous
- The Apostle Paul also stopped at Lindos after he had left Jerusalem to preach in Europe and today there is a small chapel dedicated to his name at St. Paul’s Bay, a small bay next to Lindos bay
