Lindos, one of the island’s three ancient cities, is among the island’s most famous and renowned for its famous Acropolis. At a height of 535 feet, the ruins offer breathtaking views and photo opportunities of the entire village, including its medieval castle, superb sandy beach and charming white-washed, sugar cubed houses
Ancient Lindos was the most important town on the Island and has been inhabited for 5000 years
After a guided tour of the Acropolis, we will walk down to the village of Lindos for a visit to the Byzantine Church of the Ascension
During our visit, we will take a walking tour through the labyrinth of narrow cobbled streets, past the colourful courtyards and mosaics for which Lindos is famous
The Apostle Paul also stopped at Lindos after he had left Jerusalem to preach in Europe and today there is a small chapel dedicated to his name at St. Paul’s Bay, a small bay next to Lindos bay
