Welcome to old-school chartering Eastern Mediterranean style. We’re talking wooden boats carving through the deep blue waters, mostly under sail, then chug-chug-chugging into harbour on the motor at the day’s end. It’s a great way to explore, following the legacy of Odysseus, days spent on the deck or swimming in the warm waters, whilst island-hopping between breakfast, lunch and night spots. For many groups of family and friends, who return year after year, it is the only way to travel.

If you’re a fan of Greek waters, you’ll have seen these adorable motor sailors and Gulets moored stern-on to the waterfront with the guests enjoying a sundowner or nightcap – they’ve been the charter vessel of choice for those seeking a devil may care holiday since hippy times. The great thing is they’ve become much better appointed in recent years.  For sure you can still sleep on deck under the stars if you choose, but cabins are now air-conditioned and the saloon and eating areas are beautifully appointed. It’s the perfect chance to turn back the clock without dialling-down the creature comforts.
